1969 PLYMOUTH HEMI ROAD RUNNER
ESTIMATE: $175,000 - $225,000
426/425 HP, 4-SPEED

As happened too many times during the muscle car era, the original owner of this 1969 Plymouth Road Runner gave his life while serving his country in Vietnam. The car was placed in storage, where it remained until 1999. It was discovered when the building in which it was stored was condemned and slated to be torn down. A hauler was hired to remove the car but, after the driver realized he was looking at an 11,000-mile J-code Hemi car, his company immediately offered to buy it and ultimately acquired it. It was again placed in storage until 2013, when it became the subject of a rotisserie restoration by Classy Auto Body in Daytona Beach, Florida. Completed in 2014, this rare Road Runner is finished in its correct color combination and is believed to be the only Hemi 4-speed 1969 Road Runner produced with Black paint, Black stripes and a White-on-Black interior. It also wears painted steel wheels and dog-dish center caps. The matching-numbers 426/425 HP Hemi V-8 with 4-speed transmission is accompanied by the rare A34 Super Track Pack that includes a Dana 60 4.10:1 Sure Grip differential and power front disc and rear drum brakes. This valuable Hemi classic is documented with the broadcast sheet, Chrysler Registry report and restoration documentation and receipts.
